When you’re ready to relax and take a stroll, there’s no better place to do it than in Highgate at Seven Oaks. Strolling in Highgate is a common activity in the community. With walking paths connecting parks and recreational facilities it’s no surprise that many homeowners choose to walk rather than drive. And with the addition of new features like the Parkshire Pool & Pavilion, strolling within the community has increased. Many evenings you can see families and their dogs as they make their way to the new Highgate Dog Park. It’s a great way for neighbors to catch up with each other, kids to get in some final play time before bed, and family pets to enjoy some exercise and socializing.

Strolling in Highgate is for anyone and everyone! The lighted pathways make strolling convenient no matter what your daily schedule, from early risers getting out before dawn to watch the sunrise to night owls enjoying a late-night stroll under the moon and the stars. Even children get in on the action, using the pathways to make their way to the new Highgate Elementary School, which is conveniently located within walking distance of all Highgate communities.

Perhaps the most common walkers you might encounter along the pathways are residents of Highgate Regents. Within this gated, active adult community, walking groups meeting weekly. Highgate Regents features a variety of other active adult-oriented amenities at the Regency Clubhouse. It’s not unusual to pass residents carrying racquets on their way to the pickle ball courts, or golf clubs on their way to the putting green, or towels and flip-flops on their way to the swimming pool. ‘Active adult’ is taken seriously in Highgate Regents!

If you want to take your strolling adventures even further afield, the Highgate walking paths offer easy access to the Kern River Bike Path, one of the most walkable trails in Bakersfield. From a key connection point in Highgate you’ll be able to get anywhere the over 30-mile Kern River Bike Path leads.
