We are all ready for some good news about our community and the housing market in 2012 and now it is here. According to a news report, and as featured in Bakersfield Observed, Bakersfield’s housing market is likely to rebound!
According to California Business Minute, Bakersfield ranked No 2 on a list of 10 cities whose housing markets that are expected to grow by at least 3 percent this year. The No. 1 spot went to Orland where this market is expected to grow by 11.7%, and Bakersfield is projected to grow by 11.1%.
Couple this projection with low interest rates, consumer confidence returning and Bakersfield has a great outlook for housing in 2012. Resell inventory of homes are very low and realtors have reported they are experiencing a lack of quality homes available to showcase to their clients. This should trigger homeowners who are looking to move to list their homes and once again find a home that will fit their current needs.
New construction homes will be a major player in this housing recovery as these homes feature today’s energy efficiency, home plans designed for the way people live, with great rooms and family style kitchens.
Baby boomers will also make a difference as they come out of their large family homes and seek efficient housing for their active adult lifestyle. Bakersfield features 3 active adult communities, 2 on the East side and Brighton Parks located in the new Westside, just west of the Riverwalk Park and Riverwalk shopping center.
Now is the right time to make a move! Talk to a realtor and have a marketing survey done on your home to see if selling is an option. If you are a first time homebuyer then you are in for a real treat as new homes offer some great lender incentives such as closing costs, special qualifying down payment assistance.
Look to communities and homes that are located in premiere areas, offer the latest energy features and create a sense of neighborhood. Invest in your future by purchasing at what will most likely be the best buyers market in the history of the U.S. Housing market.
