What Matters Most During the Holidays

The holidays are such a special time for so many people. It is the time of the year when families and friends come together to make memories and celebrate the joys of the holiday season. Delicious food, nostalgic decorations, family traditions, and the connection with others all contribute to the magic that surrounds the holidays. While it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season it’s good to remember that it’s not the presents that matter most, but the “presence” of the ones you love.

Highgate at Seven Oaks is a community founded on the idea of “What Matters Most in Life,” and that is especially important during the holiday season. Over 600 residents and neighbors throughout the Highgate at Seven Oaks communities gather and connect year round for different events and activities, and the holiday season is no exception! The holiday season in Highgate kicks off with a friendly decoration competition between neighbors, where judges decide who has the best holiday yard and light decorations. Children in the community get to come together for fun activities like holiday movie nights, cookie decorating, and an annual party where they meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy sleigh rides around Highgate. In the Active Adult community of Highgate Regents the can’t-miss event of the season is the annual New Year’s Eve party, complete with dinner, live music, and dancing shared with friends and neighbors. 

Highgate at Seven Oaks is a true community, created by its own residents through their connections and involvement with one another. As Highgate resident Leah Huge said, “Highgate is the perfect place to raise our daughter because there is always something fun to do. We love watching her interact and get involved with other children here in the community.”
