Highgate at Seven Oaks Welcomes Four-Legged Residents

Pets – and particularly dogs – are an important part of our lives. We even consider them members of our family. That’s why when Castle & Cooke developed Highgate at Seven Oaks, a dog park was always part of the master plan. “The Highgate Linear Park is a community asset. A place where families, kids and active adults can enjoy a two-mile meandering trail which connects to the Kern River Bikeway Trail, a dog park for both large and small dogs, and a tot lot for youth activity. “From vision to completion this has been a project in the Castle & Cooke tradition, with lush landscaping, abundant lighting along the trail, and various amenities for the community to enjoy,” shared Ben Wageman, Commercial and Land Development.

Whether your dog is big, small, or somewhere in between, the Highgate Dog Park was designed to become part of your furry friend’s lifestyle. Two large, fenced areas give your pups plenty of room to run, play, and make new friends. And you can relax knowing your pets are secure in their own designated play area.

Dog parks offer many benefits to a community’s four-legged residents. They give dogs a place to get the exercise they need, to socialize and become comfortable being around other dogs, and to just have a good time being outside playing with their friends.

Dog parks are also a great way for dog owners to socialize with one another. People who share a common interest in their pets often become friends, and a friendship that starts at the dog park can lead to whole families enjoying other activities together.

Another benefit of having the Highgate Dog Park within the community is the opportunity for pet owners to share pet related information. Maybe you need a recommendation for a good veterinarian, a new groomer, a boarding kennel for your dog while you are on vacation, even advice on the best toys and treats for your dog. All of these are the kinds of things your new friends at the dog park will be more than happy to help with.

Just like the clubhouses, recreational facilities, playgrounds, and parks that can be found throughout Highgate, the Highgate Dog Park is a focal point that brings residents together, creating a true sense of community. Soon you and your neighbors might be organizing special events for your pets at the dog park or scheduling weekly meet-ups to catch up on the latest community news while your doggos frolic in the fresh air. The Highgate Dog Park is just one more reason life is better in Highgate!

Darlene Mohlke, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, put it this way, “One of the greatest rewards of my job is working for a developer who integrates social programming into the design of their communities. It is a joy to celebrate with our employees the opening of the Highgate Dog Park and to be part of a continuing legacy that Castle & Cooke began over 30 years ago.”
