Farm to Tableaux a Big Success for Boys & Girls Clubs

Over the past five years Highgate at Seven Oaks has hosted Farm to Tableaux, the signature annual fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County, where the children bring the arts to life for their guests. This year’s theme, the famous French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, allowed kids in the art program to study and recreate his work for the 500 close friends of the Boys & Girls Clubs who attended.

The French theme was prominently on display throughout the evening, with French cuisine, customized cocktails, and an abundance of artwork. Replicas of the iconic Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower established the mood as attendees imagined themselves strolling along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris.

There were a multitude of charcuterie boards from local vendors where guests could enjoy a little taste of France along with cocktails, wine, and beer. As they sipped their drinks they enjoyed entertainment by Can-Can dancers, browsed the gallery of artwork from the young artists of the Boys & Girls Clubs, and had their pictures taken with a beautiful French lady in period costume.

With the help of Music-Fusion, a Boys & Girls Clubs performance group, attendees could see just how talented these kids are. Lively renditions of popular songs set the tempo for a delightful evening that culminated in a spectacular fireworks display.

Zane Smith, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County shared, “The success of our Farm to Tableaux is orchestrated through the stunningly beautiful art, food, children’s performances, Don C. and Diane S. Lake Family, and the backdrop of Castle & Cooke’s Highgate at Seven Oaks.”

Darlene Mohlke, V. P. of Castle & Cooke said, “Castle & Cooke was so honored to once again host Farm to Tableaux at our newest private community feature, the Parkshire Pool & Pavilion. This year’s event was a visual and funding success, allowing attendees to see the talent fostered through the many programs offered at the club.”

One of the main events of the evening was the live auction, where attendees bid on trips, artwork, dining experiences, and much more! The highlight was a beautiful piece of artwork from the Boys & Girls Clubs very own young artist, Alex. Alex was thrilled to see so many eager bidders who wanted his artwork for their homes. All proceeds from the event support the Boys & Girls club arts program, allowing students to express themselves through painting, singing, dancing, any other forms of artistic expression.
